    1. Can a percentage of the salary of our Volunteer Director be counted as Community Benefit?

    If there is a percentage of time they are coordinating volunteers for other nonprofit community-based organizations or events — Or coordinating paid (paid hourly or exempt) time for your employees to volunteer in the community on behalf of your organization (such as first aid at the Special Olympics).
    You can’t count their time for coordinating community volunteers to work at the hospital, because that is benefitting the hospital more than the community.
