Hello all,
Tim Curley with Valley Children’s has been having technical difficulties posting to the CBISA Community, so I am sending this post on his behalf. See below.Jody Branham
CBISA Community Administrator
“Valley Children’s Healthcare in Madera, CA is interested in working with a consultant to help determine which health system activities count as a community benefit. Has anyone engaged a consultant for this purpose and if so, can you share the following info with me?
1. Name and contact info for the consultant.
2. Copy of the RFP the hospital issued to prospective consultants and/or copy of the agreement with the consultant chosen. Re the latter, I am most interested in seeing how the hospital defined the purpose of the agreement and the scope of work. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Response: David A. Tim,Here is a link to a good resource surrounding Community Benefit: http://www.chausa.org/communitybenefit/community-benefit The CHA has done a voluminous amount of work in this area and I urge you to contact Julie Trocchio with CHA. She is copied on this communication.
Julie: you immediately popped into my head for this request. Julie Trocchio with the Catholic Health Association may best be suited to lead you to a consultant who may be interested in assisting you. Julie: Is Patsy still consulting? Thank you for assisting.

We had Keith Hearle, Verite Consulting, who came in did a full community benefit audit. It included line by line review of all programs in CBISA, review of our financial assistance policies, web info, and billing practices. It was very worthwhile!

Patsy Matheny has been our consultant for several years and we have been most pleased. She’s knowledgeable, detailed, and helps to keep us calm when our heads are spinning

Christiana Care has been working with Caron Lanouette for the past several years. She is very knowledgeable about community benefit, has a great understanding of the IRS Regs and is very proactive in helping me lead this effort. We are a large healthcare system and I have relied heavily on her expertise along this journey. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ - AuthorPosts
